Speed Mechanic Parental Consent

Speed Mechanic may be used by athletes under the age of 13 (“Minors”) only with verified consent from a parent or legal guardian. Because Minors may enter performance data, join teams, and interact with coaches, parental authorization is required before a Minor may create an account or use the Speed Mechanic app. By permitting your child to use Speed Mechanic, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

 

1.  Consent to Use the Speed Mechanic app

You grant permission for your child to:

  • Create and maintain a Speed Mechanic account

  • Log workouts, performance data, and training information

  • Join teams using a coach‑provided team code

  • Share performance data with coaches and team administrators

 

You understand that Speed Mechanic includes a feature designed for athletic training which allows a coach to assign an athlete a workout.

 

2. Data Collection & Sharing

You consent to Speed Mechanic collecting and processing your child’s information as described in the Speed Mechanic Privacy Policy, including:

  • Profile information (name, age, role, disciplines)

  • Performance data such as workout logs, times, distances, and training metrics

  • Team membership and coach‑assigned workouts

  • Device‑captured metadata such as weather conditions during workouts

  • Anonymized usage analytics to improve the Speed Mechanic app

 

You acknowledge that:

  • Coaches and team administrators may view your child’s performance data

  • Data is stored securely on the device and synced to the cloud through Supabase

  • All data is protected using industry‑standard encryption and Row Level Security (RLS)

 

3. Your Responsibilities

As a parent or guardian, you agree to:

  • Monitor your child’s use of the Speed Mechanic app

  • Ensure your child uses the Speed Mechanic app safely and appropriately

  • Contact Speed Mechanic if you wish to review, modify, or delete your child’s data

 

If you believe your child has created an account without your permission, please notify us immediately.

 

4. Revoking Consent

You may withdraw your consent at any time by:

  • Deleting your child’s account

  • Requesting removal of your child from a team

  • Contacting Speed Mechanic support to request data deletion

 

Revoking consent may limit or disable your child’s ability to use the Speed Mechanic app.

 

5. Acceptance

​

By permitting your child to use Speed Mechanic, you confirm that:

  • You are the child’s parent or legal guardian

  • You have read and understood this Parental Consent Notice

  • You agree to Speed Mechanic’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy on your child’s behalf
