Speed Mechanic is owned and operated by Curious Engine Studio (“we,” “us,” or “our”). At Speed Mechanic, we are dedicated to helping athletes and coaches reach peak performance while maintaining the highest standards of data privacy. Speed Mechanic believes your privacy is a right, not a privilege. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Speed Mechanic mobile application.
1. Our Privacy Core: No Data Selling
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data, training metrics or statistics to third parties. Your data is used exclusively to facilitate training between athletes and coaches, to power the app’s training features, provide analytics, to improve the app’s performance and our services.
2. The Athlete-Coach Training Environment
Speed Mechanic is a collaborative platform. By using the app, you understand the following data-sharing practices:
Athletes: When you join a team or accept a coach’s invitation, your training logs, performance metrics, and workout completion status are shared with your coach.
Coaches: Workouts and templates you create are stored and distributed to your assigned athletes. We track which athletes have received and completed these assignments to assist in training management and to provide you with team analytics.
Permission Control: Athletes may disconnect from a coach at any time, which immediately revokes the coach’s access to future training data.
3. Data Infrastructure & Storage (Supabase)
We use Supabase as our secure backend provider to store all user data and app templates.

Name, email address, age, team affiliation, and role (Athlete or Coach).

5. Future Integrations (Wearables & Health Data)
Speed Mechanic is built for growth. While not currently required, in the future, the app may offer the ability to sync with health platforms (such as Apple Health, Google Fit, or Garmin).

Explicit Consent: We will never access your wearable data without your explicit "Opt-In" permission via your device settings.

Usage: If enabled, this data will be used solely to provide more accurate training analytics within the app.
6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

You may delete your account at any time through the app. Upon deletion, your personal data is permanently removed from active Supabase databases.

Parents or guardians may request deletion of a Minor’s account or data.
7. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Speed Mechanic may be used by student-athletes. Users under the age of 13 must have parental or guardian consent to use the app. The Speed Mechanic app only collects the minimum information necessary for the athlete to participate in the team's training program.
